The New York Improv Comedy Meetup group is an organization comprised of comedy improv lovers. If you are a proficient improviser, an actor, stand-up comic, a writer, someone involved in the dramatic arts or even a curious total beginner, this group is for you!

We meet to "jam"--that is perform for and with each other. Short-form games and structures will be the preferred medium in which to participate. Short-form meaning, single improv scenes that last anywhere from three to five minutes and usually have certain "rules to the game", if you will. Much in the spirit of that hit television show "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

Once in a while we will attend improv shows throughout the city. There are many theaters that have good improv including Chicago City Limits, The People's Improv Theater and The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater.
